Oklahoma State's Terry Miller Makes 2022 College Football Hall of Fame Ballot
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State could soon have another former player in the College Football Hall of Fame. The National Football Foundation released its 2022 ballot for induction and former Cowboy running back, Terry Miller, was on the list.
Should he make the cut, he’d be the seventh Cowboy inducted, joining Lynn “Pappy” Waldorf (1966), Bob Fenimore (1972), Barry Sanders (2003), Thurman Thomas (2008), Jimmy Johnson (2012) and Leslie O’Neal (2020).
It’s a star-studded ballot this season as Miller is joined by Georgia defensive back Champ Bailey, Tennessee defensive back Eric Berry, USC running back Reggie Bush, Texas Tech receiver Michael Crabtree, Syracuse defensive end Dwight Freeney, Cal tight end Tony Gonzalez, Syracuse receiver Marvin Harrison, Oklahoma quarterback Josh Heupel and Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck among others.
Miller was a two-time First Team All-America selection during his time in Stillwater, as well as a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist, a runner-up behind Earl Campbell in 1977. He also earned the Big Eight Offensive Player of the Year award twice. Miller finished his career as the fourth-leading rusher in NCAA history with 4,754 yards and is still second all-time in career rushing yards at Oklahoma State.
