Bryce Williams Is Returning for 'One More Year' With Oklahoma State
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State senior guard Bryce Williams is sticking around for one more season with the Pokes. The announcement was made via the Cowboy Twitter account Monday night.
Williams transferred to OSU from Ole Miss prior to the 2020-21 season and will have an extra year of eligibility due to the NCAA’s COVID-19 policy.
This past season, Williams averaged 7.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game, but was third on the team in assists (54), steals (28) and blocks (19). He was also second on the team with 34 made 3-pointers. He made 19 starts in 28 games this past season for the Pokes.
Checking in at 6-2, he’s easily one of the most explosive players on the roster as his 19 blocks this past season can attest to, with a good portion of those coming on breakaways. Not to mention his laundry list of insanely athletic and energetic breakaway dunks, like the one that sealed the deal in the upset of KU in Stillwater.
This is a huge boost for OSU and Boynton and Co. as Williams adds another layer of depth, leadership and talent going into the 2021-22 season. With the addition of Kansas transfer guard Bryce Thompson, along with Avery Anderson III, Isaac Likekele and Rondel Walker, as well Chris Harris and Donovan Williams set to return from knee injuries in the fall, the Pokes are set for a rather athletic and deep backcourt.
