STILLWATER – Following his dominant performance against TCU this past weekend, Oklahoma State linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga was tabbed the Big 12’s Defensive Player of the week.

This marks the first time this season Ogbongbemiga has earned this award and the second of his career. This is the eighth time a Cowboy player has earned the honor this season.

He was also named Pro Football Focus’ National College Defensive MVP.

Ogbongbemiga recorded 12 total tackles against the Horned Frogs, nine of which were solo stops, as well as three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. His three forced fumbles matched an Oklahoma State team record, as well as the most by an FBS player this season and was just one shy of the NCAA record of four.

Ogbongbemiga has recorded 74 total tackles this season, 45 of which has been solo stops, along with 2.5 sacks for nine yards, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three quarterback hurries.
