We’re less than a month away from the start of fall camp for Oklahoma State and college football, and still roughly two weeks away from Big 12 Media Days. Which means we’re officially into the summer dead period when it comes to content.
However, there’s still a few things to talk about as we inch closer to all 10 teams making their way to Dallas July 14-15.
A few weeks ago, we put an article up on Pokes Report on Oklahoma State having one of the toughest schedules among the 130 FBS teams, coming in at No. 5. CBS Sports isn’t quite as high on the Pokes’ schedule as SportsBettingDime.com as they have Mike Gundy and Co. with just the sixth toughest schedule in the Big 12.
This is what Ben Kercheval had to say about the Pokes:
“I'm more bullish on the Cowboys than bookmakers, but I'll admit there are plenty of places to stumble along their schedule. Tulsa and Boise State are both winnable games, but traveling to the latter could get at least a little weird. The conference schedule sets up pretty evenly, too, with five home games. Kansas State, TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma all come to Stillwater while Oklahoma State travels to Texas, West Virginia, Iowa State and Texas Tech. Not easy, but not unfairly hard, either.”
The Cowboys kick their season off with a two game homestand against Missouri State and Tulsa on Sept 4 and Sept 11 respectively, then travel to Boise State Sept 18. They then kick Big 12 play off against Kansas State in Stillwater on Sept 25, then host Baylor on Oct. 2. The Cowboys then hit the road for two away games, Texas on Oct. 16 and Iowa State Oct. 23, before returning home for Kansas on Oct. 30. They’ll then travel to Morgantown for a game against WVU Nov. 6, home against TCU Nov.13, on the road at Texas Tech Nov. 20 before finishing out the regular season against OU in Stillwater on Nov. 27.
