Big 12 Athletic Directors to Meet Friday

According to a report from CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd, the Big 12 athletic directors are set to meet on Friday to discuss the next steps of the conference.

This comes less than 24 hours after it was reported Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby sent a letter to ESPN to “cease and desist” from “all actions that may harm the conference and its members and that it not communicate with the Big 12 Conference's existing members or any NCAA conference regarding the Big 12 conference's members, possible conference realignment or potential financial incentive or outcomes related to possible conference realignment."

Since the news broke, multiple sources have said it was primarily the American Athletic Conference ESPN was in contact with about approaching the remaining eight Big 12 schools to join the AAC.

ESPN issued a statement later Wednesday evening in reply to Bowlsby’s letter, saying "The claims in the letter have no merit."

This is getting juicy.... I hope some of our alumni & O-State administration learned things from TBP's arbitrage days. Too bad TBP isn't still with us - he'd would have been a good sideline coach for the war breaking out.

I hope the eight B12 teams, not leaving for another conference, stick together as long as possible....get as much $$$$$$$ as possible from the Sewerners and Shorthorn steers..... see what the money is like for an enhanced B12.....OSU is marketed and courted by the B10 and PAC for other options that may be more lucrative....only play the Sewerners when it is in playoffs and for championships....Looking forward to new challenges and rivalries....good riddance to the new meat for the SEC meat grinder....GO POKES!!!

Should've had that meeting a long time ago and had contingency plans in place if/when a team or teams move. But being proactive is against the rules of the Big XII hiearchy apparently. Fire Sitonhisbowlsby!

Bowlsby asked for a raise and the Sewerners, Shorthorns, Baylor, SEC and ESPN voted for it.
