The NFL season is officially underway as week one kicked off this past weekend. There are several former Oklahoma State players in the league, which we detailed throughout the preseason and will continue throughout the season with our ‘Pokes in the Pros’ series.

We’re going to start with the Thursday night game, Dallas @ Tampa Bay.

Blake Jarwin: Dallas Cowboys

Tight end Blake Jarwin is finally back out on the field after tearing his ACL in week one of the 2020 season against the Los Angeles Rams. The Cowboys lost to the Bucs, with Jarwin hauling in three catches on four targets for 20 yards. The Cowboys will face the Los Angeles Chargers this coming Sunday with a 3:25 p.m. CT kick on CBS (check your local listing).

James Washington and Mason Rudolph: Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off an impressive 23-16 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Receiver James Washington hauled in just two catches for 10 yards. Quarterback Mason Rudolph did not play. The Steelers will host the Las Vegas Raiders this coming Sunday with a noon CT kick on CBS (check your local listing).

Chris Carson and Tre Flowers: Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks beat the Indianapolis Colts 28-16 this past Sunday, with running back Chris Carson getting the bulk of the carries. Carson finished with 16 carries for 91 yards, an average of 5.7 yards per carry. He also had three catches on three targets for 26 yards. Unfortunately, he also had a fumble. As for Flowers, he recorded four solo stops on the day. The Seahawks host the Titans this coming Sunday with a 3:25 p.m. CT kick on CBS (check your local listing).

Matt Ammendola: New York Jets – Chuba Hubbard: Carolina Panthers

The Panthers squeaked past the Jets 19-14 this past Sunday. Former Oklahoma State kicker Matt Ammendola is showing he’s a man of many talents. He earned the starting kicking job during training camp, but now he’s showing he’s one heck of a punter as well. He had six punts on Sunday totaling 291 yards, an average of 48.5 yards a punt, with a long of 65-yards.

As for Chuba, he hauled in two catches for four yards. The Jets host Mac Jones and the New England Patriots on Sunday with a noon CT kick on CBS (check your local listing), while the Panthers host the New Orleans Saints with a noon CT kick on FOX (check your local listing).

Vincent Taylor: Houston Texans - Tyron Johnson: Jacksonville Jaguars

The Texans rolled the Jacksonville Jaguars 37-21 this past weekend. Defensive tackle Vincent Taylor recorded two total tackles, one of which was a solo stop. As for Johnson, he hauled in just one catch for six yards. The Texans will travel to Cleveland to face the Browns this coming Sunday for a noon CT kick on CBS (check your local listing). The Jags will host the Broncos this coming Sunday for a noon CT kick on CBS (check your local listing).

Tyreek Hill: Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs pulled off an impressive win late over the much-improved Cleveland Browns, 33-29. Receiver Tyreek Hill was absolutely electric as he hauled in 11 catches for 197 yards and one touchdown. He also had one carry for four yards. The Chiefs will travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens for Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. CT.

Emmanuel Ogbah: Miami Dolphins

E-Man and the Dolphins found a way to get past the New England Patriots this past Sunday, 17-16. Ogbah had a solid day as he recorded three total tackles, all solo stops, with one tackle for loss and one pass break up. The Dolphins will host the Bills this Sunday for a noon CT kick on FOX (check your local listing).
