Saturday was about as good of a regular season finale that the Cowboys could have wished for. Dillon Stoner and Dominic Richardson each were repsonsible for three touchdowns as they took down the Bears 42-3, improving the record to 7-3.
After the loss to TCU, the Cowboys dropped out of both the AP and Coaches Poll but this win propelled them back in to the ranks, at least in the Coaches Poll that. They were one spot out of the AP Poll.
The Coaches poll which was released at 12 p.m. had the Cowboys ranked at No. 22, technically a four spot rise from being unranked. Joining them from the Big 12 is Texas (24), Oklahoma (10), and Iowa State (8).
Even though they saw a rise in the AP Poll rankings, they were left off, although they received the most votes of any team not ranked.
The College Football Playoff Rankings, which are the official rankings at this time of the season, will be released in Tuesday at 6 p.m. on ESPN. Currently the Cowboys are ranked No. 22 in those rankings and will certainly see a small rise in the new release.
Whatever rank they receive on Tuesday night will be the rank they will play in the bowl game with in late December. It is not sure yet what bowl game that will be but it should not be long before we know!
