STILLWATER - Oklahoma State fell to Baylor 2-1 in its first Big 12 match of the season Thursday night at Neal Patterson Stadium.

The Cowgirls are now 5-4-1 on the season, while Baylor extended its unbeaten streak to seven games in improving to 5-2-3. It was a very physical match, with the teams combining for 23 fouls. There were also six yellow cards handed out during the match, four of them given to Baylor and  two to the Cowgirls

Baylor opened the scoring in the 29th minute when Taylor Moon netted her second goal of the season, delivering a 25-yard shot to the far post past a diving Evie Vitali.

The Cowgirls found the equalizer in the 64th minute when Olyvia Dowell scored off an assist from Charmé Morgan, who made a strong push up the right side and sent the ball through the box. Dowell's left-footed dart to the near post was her second goal of the season and tied the game at 1-1.

OSU tallied six of its 15 shots in the match over the final 15 minutes, including a long blast by Kim Rodriguez that a leaping Wandt punched over the crossbar, but the Cowgirls were unable to get a second equalizer.

The Cowgirls finished with a 15-10 edge in shots, while recording eight corner kicks to just two for the Bears. Vitali had four saves in the loss.

OSU will look to capture its first conference win Sunday afternoon when the Cowgirls host Kansas at 1 p.m. at Neal Patterson Stadium.
