STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is still putting together the 2022 class, but they’re one step closer in the recruiting process with one 2023 prospect. Layden Blocker, a 6-2, 175-pound point guard out of Sunrise Christian Academy took to Twitter to announce his top-7 schools.

Along with Oklahoma State, Blocker included Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Gonzaga, Kansas and Memphis.

Originally out of Little Rock, Arkansas, Blocker is the No. 34 ranked player in the nation and No. 9 point guard in the 2023 class, according to 247Sports.

Oklahoma State was his 18th overall offer, along with Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Creighton, Kansas, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas Tech among others.

"An athletic scoring guard, Layden Blocker has a great feel for the game and matching instincts,” said 247Sports recruiting analyst Brandon Jenkins. “The 6-foot-2, 160-pound guard out of Little Rock (Ark.) Christian has a knack for getting in the paint and scoring the ball. He has fairly long arms and is a quality athlete with great burst. On the defensive end, he has potential as a bulldog guarding the ball by utilizing his length and lateral quickness to get stops."
