STILLWATER – The December Signing Period for Oklahoma State is finally upon us and the Cowboys are bringing in some talented athletes. Pokes Report is detailing every signee with in-depth profiles and analysis, as well as premium content on the class. We’ll also have head coach Mike Gundy’s thoughts on the signees and exclusive interviews as well.

We’ve bundled together each signee by position group and we’ll be looking at the offensive line below.

  • Silas Barr
  • Caleb Etienne
  • Logan Nobles

(The profiles were created by Robert Allen)

Silas Barr, OL, 6-5, 255, Pottsboro, Texas

Barr is a long player that will certainly fill out his frame in the weight room with Cowboys strength staff and Rob Glass. It is something to see his athletic ability as he blocked kicks and covered punts at Pottsboro. He plays with emotion and some of that has to be born of his success playing on the defensive line. He was named the District 5-3A-1 Defensive Lineman of the Year as a junior as he racked up 106 tackles (52 unassisted), 9.0 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three fumbles recovered and one fumbled forced. He was also named TSWA All-State and Herald-Democrat All-Texomaland. He had 31 tackles as a sophomore and 46 in his senior season as he was playing more at offensive tackle. Offensive line will be his college home and he will bring some of that attitude to offense. He also shows the traits from defense and is especially proficient at blocking on the run. Barr has worked extensively with a personal trainer for football and it shows. Barr chose Oklahoma State over nine other offers including North Texas, Southern Miss, UNLV, New Mexico, and an offer from Ivy League member Pennsylvania. Born in Greenville, Texas on May, 10, 2003 and is the son of Jackie and Jack Barr. His father played football and mother ran track at Texas A&M University-Commerce. His brother, Kai Barr, plays basketball at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. Barr plans on majoring in finance at Oklahoma State.

Caleb Etienne, OT, 6-8, 320, Butler County C.C., Kan./New Orleans (Warren Easton), La.

Etienne has been somewhat of a football gypsy but is now hoping Oklahoma State serves as the college football home he was looking for. Think of Etienne as an immediate contender for playing time on the offensive line. He will be shaking off some rust as Butler County did not play a season in the fall, but the junior college powerhouse did practice and had multiple scrimmages and Pokes Report was able to view coach’s video of those scrimmages and found an advanced version of Etienne from what we saw in his high school career at Easton High School in New Orleans. He was mammoth then and still is. He is constantly able to use brute strength to put defenders on the ground or drive them out of the screen. He is solid on pass protection, good at turning out defenders on inside runs, but best at driving targets straight ahead on run plays just inside or off tackle. He had signed with Ole Miss right out of high school and then landed at Fort Scott in the Jayhawk Conference before transferring to Butler County in the same league. In the 2019 season he blocked for an offense that had 132.9 rushing yards a game and averaged 23.2 points per game and Etienne was named a first-team NJCAA All-American. Mississippi tried to come back and get him, but Oklahoma State won out over them and Arkansas. East Carolina, Houston, Hawaii, Mississippi State, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas Tech, and Central Florida. He was born to Leslie Etienne in New Orleans, Louisiana on Aug. 29, 2001. Etienne plans on majoring in business management at Oklahoma State.

Logan Nobles, OT, 6-5, 278, Jenks, Okla.

Nobles has become a powerful force for Jenks on the left side of the offensive line at tackle as he started for two seasons and as a senior captained the Trojans to a 12-1 record and another Jenks Class 6A-I State Championship. He is a certain All-State selection and already has been named first-team 6A District 1 all-district team in 2020. His first season as a starter he helped Jenks to a runner-up finish in Oklahoma Class 6A-I after an 8-5 record. Watch him on tape and his strengths include his athleticism and his ability to stay locked on a target after engaging without being guilty of holding. His coaches say he has had less than a handful of holding penalties in his two-years starting. He is also very physical and loves the weight room. A strong student, Nobles has earned his way onto the Principal’s Honor Roll at Jenks two years in a row. He is an involved student and a member of the American Sign Language Club … Chose Oklahoma State over 20 offers including Air Force, Arkansas State, North Texas, Kansas, Toledo, Tulsa, and Vanderbilt plus three Ivy League schools. Nobles was born on Dec. 2, 2002, in Pearland, Texas and is the son of Michelle and Zack Nobles. He plans on majoring in civil engineering at Oklahoma State.
