Marshall, Do you see another DL prospect out there that the Pokes are targeting, maybe a more highly rated kid? not that those grow on trees.

Still targeting Desean Brown and it's it is possible they could take both. Both Brown and Sledge are on the lesser side of rankings, but they are good players.

What are some of the reasons you think that are preventing OSU from attracting more linemen on both sides of the ball?
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?

Well I think its important to somewhat look at who they are targeting and trying to bring in. There are plenty of guys who Oklahoma State loves or is extremely high on that some of these blue blood programs think differently on (for whatever reason).

Defensively, Oklahoma State has the highest two highest graded interior lineman in the Big 12 with Jernigan and Antwine as well as the best freshman edge rusher in America. Trace Ford was also a force the past couple of seasons.

None of these guys were big names or highly ranked out of HS but they are balling now. They are the best in the Big 12 and some of the best in the nation. They are leading all of FBS in sacks right now. So, technically, I see where you're coming from but I really don't think they could get much better than being the best.

Offensively, I agree, they could be better in some of their recruitments, but recently they have used the portal very well to fill needs while younger guys develop. I think the freshman and RS-Freshman group will be pretty good.

Cade Bennett, Eli Russ, Taylor Miterko, Cole Birmingham and some of the other guys will end up being starters (and pretty good ones I think). For the 2022 class, there were definitely some big misses in the summer but they have landed some guys since to put a bandage on the issue. I think with the success of both sides of the becoming prevalent (especially defense), we may see some growth.

I think OSU is about as strong on the DL two deep as they've ever been. The OL group is now pretty fair.....just young. Hopefully our OL coach will continue to develop them. He was excellent at doing that at KSU. And success for OSU's linemen/NFL opportunities breeds better recruiting.

Still targeting Desean Brown but to be honest, I think only one guy will end up in this class. It it is possible they could take both but I don't see it happening right now. Both Brown and Sledge are on the lesser side of rankings, but they are good players.
Not to mention the best yet to come is a Freshmen from little old Thomas, Oklahoma named Aden Kelley. I think he will be a beast in a year or two.
