STILLWATER – After a bit of a slow first half, Oklahoma State turned up the pressure in the second half and pulled away for a 96-66 win over the College of Charleston.

With the win, the Pokes move to 5-1 on the season. They’ll face Oral Roberts in Tulsa on Friday, November 26.

Avery Anderson III and Bryce Thompson led the way for the Pokes, both with 15 points. Anderson III went 6-for-9 from the field, Thompson going 5-of-12, 4-of-6 from 3-point range. The 15 points from Thompson scored a career-high, clearing his previous of 14 points, a total he hit twice this season.

It was a bit of a sloppy first half for both sides as they combined for 28 total turnovers, 12 coming from the Pokes. The Cougars jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the Pokes got on the board at the 18-minute mark. It was back and forth for a majority of the first half, until the Cougars tied it up and took the lead with just over two minutes left in the half, before a bucket from Kalib Boone gave the Pokes the lead back for the rest of the game. The bucket from Boone started an 8-0 run for the Pokes to end the half, 43-36.

The Cowboys were electric out of the break as they go on multiple 6-0 runs, extending the lead up to 19 points with just over 11 minutes left in the game, 67-48. They’d extend that lead up to 23 with just over eight minutes left in the game, 78-55.

After a few impressive alley-oops in the first half, the Pokes put on an even more impressive displays of oops and dunks in the second half, including an impressive breakaway dunk from Bryce Williams and a third oop to Moussa Cisse, this one coming with three minutes left putting the Pokes up 87-60.

The night also featured multiple blocks, including six from Cisse and five from Kalib Boone.

The 16 blocks on the night was the most since Feb. 4, 1989 against OU and tied a school record.

The Cowboys held the Cougars to 29.5% shooting on the night, including a 1-for-12 streak to end the game. They also forced 28 Cougar turnovers but the end of the game, while recording 16 steals.

The Cowboys are back out on the court this coming Friday, Nov. 27, as they travel to Tulsa for a game against ORU.
