Oklahoma State Picks Up Multiple All-Big 12 Honors
STILLWATER – The Big 12 announced its conference awards on Thursday, in which several Cowboys earned All-Big 12 honors, including first-team quarterback and Coach of the Year.
Running back Jaylen Warren was named the Offensive Newcomer of the Year, Collin Oliver was named the Defensive Freshman of the Year and Mike Gundy was named the Chuck Neinas Coach of the Year.
When looking at the All-Big 12 teams, the Cowboys earned six First Team nods, two on offense and four on defense, and four Second Team nods, one on offense, two on defense and one special teams.
Spencer Sanders was named the All-Big 12 First Team quarterback. He was joined by offensive guard Josh Sills as a First Team All-Big 12 offensive lineman. On the defensive side of the ball, defensive end Brock Martin, linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez, corner Jarrick Bernard-Converse and safety Kolby Harvell-Peel all earned First Team All-Big 12.
Second Team All-Big 12 included receiver Tay Martin, defensive end Collin Oliver, corner Christian Holmes and kick and punter returner Brennan Presley.
Pokes Report put out its All-Big 12 team on Wednesday, a list which included Spencer Sanders, Josh Sills, Brock Martin, Malcolm Rodriguez, Jarrick Bernard-Converse and Kolby Harvell-Peel as first teamers, as well as Collin Oliver as the Defensive Newcomer of the Year.
While Spencer was tabbed an All-Big 12er on the field, he’s certainly First Team off the field as well. A story has been circulating social media the past 24 hours about Spencer and one of his long-time friends from Denton (TX) Ryan, Stone Evans.
