While Cowboys Celebrated in Arizona, Grey Ghost Froze at Home
EDMOND – I know every night he anchors ESPN Sportscenter that the lead late night anchor of the world wide leader Scott Van Pelt leads off with the best thing he saw that day. I was a little disappointed that on New Year’s Day the Oklahoma State comeback wasn’t at the top. Van Pelt chose the Ohio State comeback in the Rose Bowl.
It is a day late but the best thing I saw in conjunction with the Cowboys 37-35 win over Notre Dame in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl was something that took place back in Oklahoma. My friend the Grey Ghost, a regular listener to Triple Play Sports Radio and a subscriber to Pokes Report is an Oklahoma State grad, season ticket holder, avid tailgater. I would say Tailgater of elegance. He is a fan of all Cowboys sports, plays golf. I enjoy talking to him as he is a very intelligent and insightful Oklahoma State fan.
Now, I’m not sure if he was trying to change the tide in the Fiesta Bowl or if he had a fit of insanity and forgot that this Oklahoma State team never quits. However, it seems he made a bet or a daring pledge to jump in his icy pool on Saturday if the Cowboys vanquished the Fighting Irish which they did.
Enjoy this video. It was the best thing I saw before I put my head on the hotel pillow Saturday night for a short nap before getting ready for a 5 a.m. flight to start the trek home.
