Game Flow

Kansas was able to jump out to a 24-13 lead midway through the first half following an 8-0 run.

Oklahoma State’s defense locked down and did not allow the Jayhawk offense to score for the final 9:12 of the first half. This enabled a 14-0 run for the Cowboys to tie the game at 29 at the break.

Despite the ending to the first half, Kansas found its legs again with a 7-0 run to retain a 10-point lead after the second media timeout of the second half.

 

Game Notes

·Oklahoma State was able to tie its longest scoring run of the season at 16-0 (9:11 mark of the first half to the 19:24 mark of the second half) thanks to the defense holding Kansas to 0-of-20 shooting to end the first half.

· Isaac Likekele recorded the fourth double-double of his career with 16 points and 12 rebounds. 

· The Cowboy defense was able to hold the Kansas offense to 43 percent shooting from the field and 74 points. Prior to the game the Jayhawks were third in the country in field goal percentage at 51.4 percent and ninth in scoring offense at 85.2 points per game. 

· Head Coach Mike Boynton went with his fifth different starting lineup of the season as he started Isaac Likekele, Avery Anderson III, Bryce Williams, Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe, and Kalib Boone. 

· Isaac Likekele recorded his 141st career steal to move up to 16th on Oklahoma State’s all-time list.

OSU has forced at least 10 turnovers 142 times under Mike Boynton. 

OSU has made at least one three-pointer in 709 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 13, 2001, which is the 24th longest current streak in college basketball.
