STILLWATER – I’ll admit it. I was going to be mad if Oklahoma State All-Big 12 and All-American linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez had not been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine that runs from Feb. 28-March 6 in Indianapolis, Ind. The NFL Combine workouts are televised by the NFL Network.

Malcolm Rodriguez and Spencer Sanders were named MVP’s in the bowl win.

Rodriguez, who was the Defensive MVP in Oklahoma State’s 37-35 win over No. 5 Notre Dame in the 2022 PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. He had 11 tackles and a key interception in the game. Rodriguez finished the season for the Cowboys with 130 tackles, 76 unassisted tackles, 14.5 tackles-for-loss, 3.0 sacks, the interception against Notre Dame, two fumbles recovered, and four fumbles forced.

He was a dynamo defensively’ and voted a captain again by his teammates. He played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and made two tackles, had a pass defended, and a fumble forced. Rodriguez was a huge part of the defensive turnaround at Oklahoma State.

The list of invites to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine was expected to be out on NFL.com but has yet to be released. We confirmed Rodriguez. The other possible invites from Oklahoma State would be All-American safety Kolby Harvell-Peel and receiver Tay Martin. I would call both Harvell-Peel and Martin likely invites. The others would be offensive guard Josh Sills, running back Jaylen Warren, center Danny Godlevske, linebacker Devin Harper, cornerback Christian Holmes, and safety Tre Sterling.
