CLEARWATER, Fla. – A three-run seventh inning thrust No. 5 Washington to a 7-6 win over the No. 7 Oklahoma State softball team at the St. Pete Clearwater Elite Invitational on Saturday.
The Cowgirls fell to 5-4 with the loss.
The score was tied at four going into the Oklahoma State half of the sixth, when Chelsea Alexander singled home Karli Petty to put OSU on top. Chyenne Factor then brought home Kiley Naomi with a single of her own to give the Cowgirls an insurance run.
Facing potential defeat in the top of the seventh, the Huskies responded with a two-run home run from Madison Huskey to tie the game, then got the game-winning run across when Baylee Klingler singled home Kelley Lynch.
The Cowgirls return to action when they face Northwestern at 8:30 a.m. CT tomorrow.
