STILLWATER – Morgan Day's 16 strikeouts helped the Oklahoma State softball team defeat DePaul, 4-0, at Cowgirl Stadium on Sunday.

With the win, OSU improved to 12-5 overall.

Day (2-1) needed only 93 pitches to record a complete game shutout of the Blue Demons. She allowed only two hits and a walk and recorded a season high in innings pitched and strikeouts. Day held Brooke Johnson (.415 BA entering today) and Maranda Gutierrez (.360) to zero hits on six at bats.

"I thought she was in great command of all of her pitches here today," Head Coach Kenny Gajewski said. "She's got good stuff and she's been working really hard with John [Bargfeldt] on really improving her secondary pitches.

A third inning three-run home run by Kiley Naomi led the Cowgirl offense. The ball left the yard on a hard-hit line drive to left field. Morgyn Wynne and Chelsea Alexander scored on the homer.

Sydney Pennington logged an RBI ground out in the fourth to tack on another run for the Cowgirls.

Oklahoma State plays its final game of the OSU Tulsa Invitational at 3 p.m. against Minnesota.
