Oklahoma State 2022 Signee Quion Williams Wins State Title
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is bringing in an Arkansas state champion in the 2022 class. Quion Williams, who signed with the Pokes back in November, helped lead Jonesboro (AR) High School to its second-straight 5A Arkansas state championship.
Jonesboro beat Marion 55-28, finishing the season on a 20-game win streak. Williams, who transferred from Mansfield (TX) Legacy prior to the start of the 2021-22 season, finished with 17 points, four rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Williams is a 6-4, 185-pound guard/small forward and is ranked as the No. 89 overall prospect in the 2022 class, the No. 24 ranked small forward in the country and the No. 5 overall prospect out of Arkansas in the class.
He received around 15 total offers before the end of his recruiting process, which included several Power Five schools, including Houston, Kansas State, Saint Louis, TCU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech among others.
Williams brings versatility with him to Stillwater, as he strong on and off the ball.
"Quion Williams is a high valued addition to our program," Mike Boynton said in a release when Williams signed. "He gives us another versatile perimeter player who exudes toughness and a great will to win. [Williams] can defend four positions well and is a great teammate who values hard work. His best basketball is definitely ahead of him."
With the addition of Williams, the transfer of Donovan Williams, loss of senior Bryce Williams and potential loss of Isaac Likekele, Boynton and Co. will have at least two spots to fill this spring, either through the transfer portal, JUCO ranks or with high school prospects.
