WACO, Texas – Kelly Maxwell pitched a complete game shutout to lift the No. 6 Oklahoma State softball team to a 2-0 road victory over Baylor Saturday.

The win was OSU's 10th straight and it improved the Cowgirls to 27-6 on the year and 5-0 in Big 12 play.

Maxwell allowed only three hits and struck out nine in the contest. She pitched her way out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth inning then retired each of the last 11 batters she faced to put the Bears away.

OSU first baseman Karli Petty opened the scoring with a solo home run in the fourth inning. It was her second homer of the season.

The Cowgirls added an insurance run in the fifth inning when Julia Cottrill singled to right field to bring home Brianna Evans.

Evans went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases in the game.

Oklahoma State goes for the series sweep tomorrow at 1 p.m. CT.
