Oklahoma State Offers Rising 2023 Forward

STILLWATER – As focus starts to shift more and more towards the 2023 class, Oklahoma State has extended an offer to a rising 2023 forward prospect out of Colorado.

Carey Booth is a 6-9, 190-pound forward out of Cherry Creek HS in Colorado and is an AAU teammate of Parker Friedrichsen at KC Run GMC. He currently holds six offers, but three have come in the past 48 hours, including Oklahoma State’s. Booth’s up in Indianapolis this weekend playing in UAA Session I as part of the Under Armour Next tour and he is turning some heads, including Mike Boynton’s.

Boynton posted one of his ‘shoes on a plane’ recruiting tweets on Friday and it appears we have an answer as to where he was going.

Notre Dame’s Mike Brey and Iowa’s Fran McCraffery also took notice, with Iowa extending an offer. I would expect more offers to come rolling in as we move throughout the spring and Booth continues to play in tournaments.

Booth, who’s the son of former NBA big, and current Denver Nugget GM, Calvin Booth, was solid this past season as a junior. He played in 22 of Cherry Creek’s 23 games in 21-22 and averaged 10.6 points and 7.7 rebounds a game. He also posted 1.0 block a game.

While he’s not a prototypical big man, he is what coaches are looking for as a four. He’s got length at 6-9 and can alter shots in the paint and at the rim, which makes him very desireable as a defender, yet he’s quick up and down the court and can hit shots at all levels, including from beyond the 3-point line.
