Devin Harper Meets With Multiple NFL Teams Ahead of Draft
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State linebacker Devin Harper has been busy since his stellar performance at OSU’s Pro Day in March.
According to a report from Ian Rapoport, Harper has been in contact with multiple NFL teams the past week and has a few meetings set up in the coming days.
Harper met with the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys last week and is set to meet with the Cleveland Browns on Friday. He’s also scheduled to meet with the Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Ravens sometime next week.
This news should come as no surprise to Cowboy fans as Harper posted one of the best combine/pro day performances among linebackers last month. His 40.5-inch vertical would’ve ranked second among all linebackers who participated at the NFL Combine this year.
His 20-yard shuttle time of 4.13 was faster than the linebackers at the Combine, and his 40-time of 4.51 would’ve ranked fourth among linebackers at the Combine, bumping fellow Cowboy linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez down to fifth with a 4.52.
Harper, who former DC Jim Knowles said was the most athletic player he’s ever coached, took full advantage of his lone season as a starter this past year.
He was second on the team in total tackles with 96, 61 of which were solo stops. He led the team in quarterback hurries with 15 and was fourth on the team in tackles for loss with 11 for 59 yards. He also recorded 60 sacks for 45 yards, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two pass break ups.
