Cowboys Receive Their Fiesta Bowl Rings and They are Impressive
STILLWATER – The door from the hallway in the floor level of the West End Zone to the Oklahoma State equipment room was propped open by a roll of athletic tape. That is highly unusual as there are hundred of thousands of dollars of helmets, jerseys, uniforms, shoes, clothing, and all kinds of stuff. However, this was important as players, staff, and support staff were all making a beeline to football equipment coordinator Justin Williams office to pick up their PlayStation Fiesta Bowl rings.
The rings are huge and the players love that. The oval football top has 38 stones on top with the OSU brand logo. It reads Fiesta Bowl Champions in an inlaid yellow gold.

There are 34 stones the circle the top of the ring and eight stones on either end. On one side at the top of the side panel it reads: “Just Find A Way,” which was the team slogan for the season. The panel below in inlaid yellow gold has “16 straight” winning seasons and bowl games. Below that is the score with the Oklahoma State and the Notre Dame logos. In the middle is the logo of the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl.
For those that may not remember the score was 37-35 and represented the biggest comeback in Oklahoma State football history. It was also a win against the most iconic program in college football. That and the fact that Oklahoma State is often under appreciated by some in the national media prompted the saying on the other side of the ring.

The other side has at the top of the side panel it reads: “We Have A Logo Too,” the response that head coach Mike Gundy had on the trophy stand after the game. Below that is the recipients name, the West End Zone of Boone Pickens Stadium, and below the player’s position, coach, or the job of the person that owns the ring.
Something different is that on the very bottom of the ring is the script Cowboys logo. Inside the ring is the OSU brand logo in yellow gold with the record 12-2. Below that is the Barry Sanders 21 logo from his statue dedication and ring of honor ceremony and next to it the Bedlam trophy.

Justin Williams designed the ring with consulting from head coach Mike Gundy and it was Jostens that made the rings. Judging from the smiles that I saw in the West End Zone it made for a very suitable trophy of the 2021 season for the Oklahoma State players and coaches.
