Christian Holmes Goes to the Washington Commanders in the 7th
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State cornerback Christian Holmes was selected in the 7th round with the 240th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders. Holmes played two seasons and started his final season after transferring from Missouri. Holmes finished the season with 39 tackles, one interception, and seven passes defended. He finished his Oklahoma State career with 64 stops, the one interception, and 13 passes defended.
Holmes earned second-team All-Big 12 honors and was also a first-team All-Academic All-Big 12 selection.
Holmes measured 5-11.7, 201-pounds, and ran a 4.52 in the forty. He also had a 39-inch vertical and a very impressive 10’6” broad jump.
Holmes is a big corner that comes up and defends the run well. He came out of the Pro Day in Stillwater with teams really looking at him favorably and that is likely why he heard his name called.
Holmes watched the NFL Draft back home in Mississippi with family and friends.
Washington will have OTAs May 23-26, May 31-June 2, and June 6-8. The mandatory minicamp is June 14-16 and rookie minicamp dates are to be announced.
