STILLWATER – Oklahoma State grad transfer Isaac Likekele is finally off the board. He took to Twitter Wednesday morning to announce he’s committed to Ohio State.

Definitely a little weird to see Ice in Scarlet and Grey.

Likekele became the fourth out of five Cowboy players to enter the transfer portal following the season, joining fellow guards Donovan Williams and Keylan Boone and forward Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe. Guard Rondel Walker entered the portal on April 29.

Both Boone and Williams have committed to play at Pacific, Moncrieffe at Georgia and Walker has yet to announce.

Likekele entered this season with two years of eligibility remaining thanks to a COVID year, meaning this season at Ohio State will be his last in college.

I think it was safe to say Likekele not returning to Oklahoma State for another season was a foregone conclusion, especially the closer we got the end of the season. The surprise for a lot of people came when Likekele entered his name into the portal as a grad transfer as most people expected him to go pro.

During his four years in Stillwater, Likekele played in 114 games, starting in 110 of those. During his career, he combined to average 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

Likekele finished his senior season in Stillwater averaging 7.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

He earned All-Big 12 honorable mention nods following his sophomore and junior seasons, in which he averaged 10.9 points and 5.7 rebounds a game in 2019 and 9.1 points and 6.6 rebounds a game in 2020.

His numbers would’ve been higher in both those seasons, except he missed roughly a month during both years because of illness and injury.

He also became just the second freshman in program history to record 120+ steals and 40+ assists in his first year as a Cowboy.

Following his breakout freshman season, Likekele was selected to participate in the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup, joining Matt Clark (1979), Marcus Smart (2013) and Jawun Evans (2015) to become just the fourth player in program history to win gold.

He averaged 8.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game in the World Cup.
