1st Match 125 pounds - No. 16 Reece Witcraft (O) vs. Colten Klein (B)
Witcraft dominated jumping out to a 10-1 lead after the first period and then closed it out at 4:03 with the fall. He was leading 12-1 when the put Klein on his back for good.
2nd Match 125 pounds - Trevor Mastriogiovanni (O) vs. Jakason Burks (B)
No score after the first period.
Mastriogiovanni got a quick escape to start the second period and led after the second 1-0.
Burks got a quick escape to start the third period but then Matriogiovanni got a takedown working from behind Burks ans then added a near fall for four points and the riding time point for an 8-1 decision .
3rd Match 133 pounds - Price Perrier vs. No. 1 Daton Fix
Fix came out and dominated with a quick takedown and followed that with three two-point near falls. Then Perrier got on the board with a reversal before being reversed by Fix to make the score 10-2. Fix let Perrier up and then tackled him back to the mat for the final time as he turned him over and got the fall at 2:38 of the first period. Dominance by Fix.
4th Match 133 pounds - Andrew Nieman (O) vs. Colt Newton (B)
Nieman scored a takedown near the edge of the mat at the end of the first period for a 2-0 lead. No scoring in the second period as Newton rode out the period starting on top. Neiman on top to start the third and he quickly gets a near fall for four points to take a commanding 6-0 lead and continues to stay on top to finish the match at 6-0.
5th Match 141 pounds - Dusty Hone (O) vs. No. 8 Kaid Brock (B)
In the first period Brock gets a takedown on a trip and then Hone escapes for a 2-1 Brock lead. In the second Brock starts on top and Hone gets the escape to tie the match at 2-2.
In the third period, Brock got the only scoring on the escape and wins a 3-2 decision over Hone.
6th Match 149 pounds - No. 4 Boo Lewallen (O) vs. Kaden Gfeller (B)
Lewallen gets a takedown with a nifty single leg and then works a near fall for a 4-0 lead and riding time advantage after the first period.
The second starts with Lewallen down and he quickly escapes for a 5-0 lead.
In the third period Lewallen rode out the match adding riding time for a 6-0 decision.
7th Match 157 pounds - Jalin Harper (O) vs. No. 12 Wyatt Sheets (B)
Sheets gets a takedown in the first period to lead 2-0.
In the second Harper gets an escape but then Sheets gets another takedown for a 4-1 lead.
Sheets started down in the third and got the escape in about 40 seconds and scored yet another takedown for a 7-1 lead. Add the overwhelming riding time advantage and it finished 8-1 in favor of Sheets.
8th Match 157 pounds - Chance McLane (O) vs. Daniel Manibog (B)
Busy first period as McLane got the takedown and Manibog the escape. Then before the first three minutes were up Manibog got the takedown to lead 3-2.
Manibog gets a quick escape to start the second period to extend his lead to 4-2. Second period ended that way.
Third period and McLane gets an escape. No scorin after that althought they tried. Maonibog wins a 4-3 decision.
9th Match 165 pounds - No. 4 Travis Wittlake (O) vs. Joey Sanchez (B)
Wittlake got a classic single leg for a 2-0 lead and then allowed Sanchez to escape before nearly getting a takedown at the first period buzzer.
In the second period Wittlake escaped and then got a takedown while on the mat working for a 5-1 lead.
Wittlake closed it out with another takedown and an 8-1 lead before giving Sanchez a release and that finished the scoring, so Wittlake gained a 9-2 win with the riding time advantage.
10th Match 174 pounds - Cade Lindsey (O) vs. Dustin Plott (B)
Plott gets the scoring started on a takedown in the first period. He then gets an escape to start the second period for a 3-1 lead. Plott gets a takedown to go up 5-2 and eventually finished it off with the fall at 4:37.
11th Match 174 pounds - Christian Bahl (O) vs. JaQuan Jackson (B)
Bahl starts with a takedown very fast and then adds four points on a near fall and repeats it with another four point near fall to go up 10-0 before closing it out at 2:13 with the fall.
12th Match 184 pounds - Christian McCutcheon (O) vs. No. 10 Dakota Geer (B)
Geer with a quick takedown for a 2-0 lead. He turned that into four points on the near fall before McCuthcheon got an escape. Geer kept dominating and got the fall at 2:26.
13th Match 197 pounds - A.J. Ferrari (O) vs. Luke Surber (B)
No scoring in the first as Surber kept Ferrari’s shots at bay.
Ferrari really wanted to dominate and you could tell. He finally got a takedown working from on the at and then rose up ans threw Surber to the mat for two points. He then got an escape to start the second period and added a take down. In the third period he gave up an escape but got the takedown for a 7-1 lead and then gave up an escape. Ferrari added the riding time point for an 8-2 decision.
14th Match 285 pounds - Connor Webb (O) vs. Konner Doucet (B)
No score after the first period. Connor Webb got an escape to start the second. 1-0 after two periods. Doucet got an escape or a release to start the third so it was 1-1 with one minute and a half to decide the issue. The regulation ended 1-1 and moved to sudden victory. That was scoreless as well so we moved to tiebreaker. Both wrestlers got their escape and at 2-2 it was back to sudden victory with a minute on the clock. Back to tiebreaker and Doucet rode Webb for 18 seconds. Doucet escaped after just 8 seconds. Doucet wins on tiebreaker 2.
15th Match 125 pounds - Trevor Mastriogiovanni (O) vs. No. 16 Reece Witcraft (B)
In what amounted to a mini tournament the ranking matches ended with a championship between the 125 pound winners. No score after the first period, but Mastriogiovanni got an escape to start the second. He led 1-0 going to the third.
Witcraft got a reversal in the third to lead 2- 1 but then a point went to Mastriogiovanni for Witcraft stalling. Finally, Mastriogiovanni got an escape and that was the end of the scoring as the freshman upset Witcraft 3-2.
