Oklahoma State Hosts Official Visitors This Week
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football hosted four official visitors this week in the West End Zone, two of which are already committed in the 2023 class.
OL JaKobe Sanders out of Stillwater, DL Ricky Lolohea out of Euless (TX) Trinity, S Jordan Sanford out of Mansfield Timberview and Jelani McDonald out of Waco (TX) Connally.
Both Lolohea and Sanders are currently committed in the 2023 class.
Jordan Sanford is a 6-0, 180-pound safety for Mansfield Timberview in Arlington, TX. This past season as a junior, Sanford recorded 34 total tackles, 29 of which were solo stops, seven pass break ups, two interceptions, two QB hurries, one force fumble and one sack.
The Cowboys made Sanford’s top nine on June 1, joining SMU, TCU, Utah, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Texas Tech, Washington and Northwestern.
Jelani McDonald is a 6-2, 190-pound athlete out of Waco (TX) Connally.
As you can see from the highlight video, McDonald played as a dual-threat quarterback for Connally this past season and is very fast but is being recruited as a corner by the Pokes. While he didn’t play a defensive role for the Cadets last season, he’s expected to play on the defensive side of the ball as a senior.
He’s a two-sport athlete as he’s a standout on the basketball court averaging 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and one block per game this past season, which earned him Texas District 18-4A MVP.
Sanders announced his commitment back in late January, He is one of the best linemen in the state of Oklahoma heading into the fall and he’s gotten better between his junior and senior seasons. Sanders was one of the handful of players I watched at the Owasso team camp a few weeks and he’s quicker on his feet, stronger and more confident than last season.
Lolohea, who checks in at 6-4, 250-pounds, lined up outside for Trinity this past season in nine games as a junior and recorded 20 total tackles, 13 of which were solo stops, 5.0 tackles for loss and one sack.
While he didn’t play a full complement of games this past season, Lolohea was one of the top defensive playmakers while on the field for the Trojans in 2021. He progressed as the season went along and is poised for a potential breakout senior season.
