Oklahoma State Makes the Cut for 2023 Edge Trey Wilson

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has been pushing hard to land 2023 defensive tackle, Trey Wilson. Well, now they’re one step closer to potentially landing him as Wilson included the Pokes in his top-8 schools.

OSU made the cut along with Baylor, Miami, Nebraska, Stanford, USC, Utah and Washington, which was cut down from 32 offers.

Wilson, a 6-4, 230-pound edge out of Lakeview Centennial in Garland, TX, is one of the top prospects on the Cowboys’ board. He’s long and fast off the edge and he’s tough to contain, so he’ll be lining up off the edge as either a defensive end or in OSU’s Leo position like Trace Ford and Collin Oliver.

Wilson has been to Stillwater several times, including back in January for OSU’s Junior Day, a visit in which he told Pokes Report was elite. At the time, it felt as if Wilson was going to be a guy who wanted to have his recruitment shut down before the start of his senior season and it appears that he’s getting close to doing so.

The landscape of his recruiting process has certainly changed over the past few months as it seemed to be a two-team race between OSU and Michigan to land Wilson.

With how Joe Bob Clements, now OSU’s linebackers coach, and Greg Richmond have been able to develop talented defensive ends through the years, with Collin Oliver and Trace Ford prime examples on the current roster, I’d imagine that’s pretty appealing to a guy like Wilson.
