I didn't say if the kid was good or not. I am sure he is a good developmental prospect. I would most definitely rather have a recruit that already knows how to play defense tho. Being he hasn't played defense and he will be a corner for us. Again these are the types of kids that keep us where we have been. Very low chance this kid becomes an elite player. Possible but not very likely. Doesn't mean he sucks. Osu isn't the only school in America that evaluates talent. We missed on the best ones and now we get these types of kids again. Say what you want but this kid doesn't move the needle.

And if osu is exclusively going for these types of prospects then we are afraid of the competition or they have resigned to the fact we can't get the best players. So either way it's not a good look

If you look at OSU's "team ranking" at this very moment (#49), using 24/7 rankings.

could you please tell my how Virginia, Vandy, Georgia Tech and Maryland have a "team ranking" higher than OSU.

OSU, Virginia and Vandy all have 10 commits, while Tech has 12 and Maryland has 13. (all have only 3-star kids, there are no 4-star or 5-star).

OSU has an "average player point score" of 86.77, which is greater than all of the 4 schools that are "ranked" immediately above us.

How exactly does that "team ranking work"?

OSU has as many recruits, the same "stars", and higher Player rankings - yet OSU has a lower "team ranking".

We could argue this all day. Point will still be recruiting like we do won't win us anything substantial. You want numbers but ignore em when I give em. I don't have the energy to argue with you today. If you believe how we are doing things will get us to the promise land than you should be in heaven right now because we are killing this being average thing. So are maintaining cali and not improving. Super seniors and historical defenses don't come along every day and when that runs out and we have to rely on talent we will be back in our normal 8-10 wins range that you all seem so happy to be apart of. Me and you and recruiting conversations are done. I think I understand how you feel and surely you see I am not satisfied with how we recruit so where does that leave us? Arguing for no reason. I can't do it anymore and won't carry this on for weeks like you do. So I respect whatever opinion you have and I'm moving on.

I personally love this pickup. High school qb's tend to be one of if not the best athlete on their teams. Switzer used to recruit qb's for db's and made a living off of great unknown backfield types from smaller towns often. I know some are disappointed when the stars don't fall on a player, but truth is, we had one of the nation's best collection of defensive backfields last year. I trust these coaches know what they're doing on db's.

Very good point, Malcolm Rodriguez was a three year starting QB and defensive back at Waggoner and lead them to three State Championships in a row and of course we know the rest of the story (NFL)!

Is your point that the way OSU recruits we will never have a top football program? In case you don't follow OSU football, our school won the Fiesta Bowl and finished #7 in the country five months ago.

No that's not my point. My point is we won't win anything that matters. That fiesta bowl means squat. No one nationally sees us as a contender. We beat Notre dame and can't beat Rutgers in recruiting. Notre dame got more momentum from losing than we did from winning. You see us winning it big but why do we struggle to land top recruits? We aren't trying or we are that bad at it. Give me all the backlash.

I'm instigating nothing, I'm simply asking why you keep harping about star rankings and team rankings, when they are essentially made up nothingness. (as I've demonstrated).

I have been implying osu is not recruiting very well or at a very average level that won't get us to a national title. I have never mentioned stars. My opinion is osu is not recruiting at a high enough level. I myself said that the rankings are not completely accurate but there is some merit. I said the teams that recruit the best win at the highest level. The way osu recruits will not get us there. I have said that 100 times you keep on about team rankings and stars not me. If you are not relying on stars and service rankings, then how exactly have you determined that we're not recruiting at a "high enough" level.

the whimp out claim that if you win more, then you recruit better is not sufficient to support your attacks on our recruiting, because you can't possibly know if the recruiting was good BEFORE those recruits have played and won games. It just doesn't work that way.
