Insult to Injury as Kale Davis Announces His Bedlam Transfer
STILLWATER – This is one of those stories that will resonate for a while and will take some time for Oklahoma State fans, his teammates, and the coaching staff to get over. Oklahoma State pitcher Kale Davis went into the transfer portal after the 2022 season. Davis had an up and down season that included some very diappointing outings, but also some really amazing stints on the mound that helped the Cowboys. It was inconsistent, but Davis still figured to be a good piece to the pitching puzzle for the Cowboys in 2023. He went into the portal and now he has announced on Twitter (July 6) that he is going to be a Sooner.
As a sophomore for Oklahoma State he appeared in 26 games this spring and he finished with a 4.25 ERA and a 1-1 record. Most of his outings were in relief, but he did start two games. Davis allowed 32 hits with 23 runs and 20 of those were earned. He struck out 56 hitters this season and walked 20. Opponents hit .205 off Davis.
The 6-4 225-pound product was from Westmoore and was a third-team All-American in high school and was the 2019 Gatorade Player of the Year in OKlahoma.
It should make Bedlam interesting in the future, even more so than it usually is.
