2022 5 Star Wide Receiver Evan Stewart Includes Cowboys In Top List
As many Oklahoma State fans know, the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex is home to some of the best football talent in the country. Among that large group of top talent, there is a group of them that for one reason or another, just stand out above the rest.
In the 2022 class, one of those who stand out above the rest is Evan Stewart, a wide receiver out of Frisco Liberty High School.
At around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Stewart released a top 13 list, trimming down his list of 34 offers.
Oklahoma State made the list after offering the 5 star prospect on Dec. 16. Joining the Cowboys in the list is Oregon, Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Georgia, Texas, TCU, Florida, Baylor, USC, Penn State and Texas A&M.
Stewart is a 6’0 180 pound prospect with extreme athleticism. He is a two sport athlete, excelling in track and field just as much as football. He has tested a nearly 48 foot ‘triple jump’, a 25 foot ‘long jump’, a 10.7 second 100 meter dash and a 21.08 second 200 meter dash. That 200 meter dash time being better than the 100 is a sign that he is a stride runner and picks up speed the longer he runs, which is why he distances himself on the football field so easily.
In two varsity seasons, his sophomore and junior years, he has totaled 89 catches for 1,670 yards and 16 touchdowns.
As someone who went to high school in Frisco two years ago, I can confidently say that Stewart is one of the most talented prospects to ever come through Frisco.
Kasey Dunn and the rest of the offensive staff will have their work cut out for them with the recruitment of Stewart as schools will never stop calling him, even after he makes a decision. There is no clear timeline of Stewart’s commitment but the fact that he is already trimming his list tells me he is satisfied with his offers and already thinking of making decisions.
