Players Get Two Days Off, Coaches Will Finalize Depth Chart, We Have Our Guess

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football takes a two-day pause. Head coach Mike Gundy believes in the theory you give the players 48-hours for rest and recovery to the body and also time for the players to give their minds and emotions a break from football and check out the bustling campus. Students are back in town. There are parties around campus and Gundy has always encouraged his players to take advantage of this time in their lives.

I hope that is just a bad picture of #3 (above)..... from that shot it looks like he's never thrown a downfield pass in his life.

This departure leaves 13 recruited O Lineman. 4 of which are freshman. Only about 7 have ever played a down for us.

Nobody on this site is recruiting for OSU or dealing with these players once they arrive on campus.

I'm not sure that I understand the point you're trying to make.

Nobody on which "site"..... do you mean Pokes Report? I don't think they're allowed to recruit.

technically, I think all of the OLine were recruited, even the walk-ons, did you mean scholarship players? We've had several guys start for us that began as recruited walk-ons (our previous center, etc.).

Only 7 have played a down for us, but many of them have starts, and we only need 8. Even guys that have never played a down for us have won starting positions, Sills, Godlevske, the kid from UAB a few years ago, freshman Keys, etc.

I think what you posted is correct, but I'm not quite sure what you're suggesting that it means.

Our starting RT was a recruited walk-on originally and he's been holding off Brooks at RT and the staff is high on Brooks. We have 4 mature projected starters, all with at least some starting experience plus Etienne this year (who has at least played above HS and was rated 4*'s if I recall when we landed him). Brooks, Webber and Michalski are good enough to start (and two have pressed at their positions). Best situation Dickey has had over his three.....heading into 4th year IF they keep mostly healthy IMO. And we have 7 recruited freshman this year, 4 scholy, 3 walk-ons out of 20 OL players. Two frosh wo's are already being talked about for future player status supposedly...Bax and Maka. And true freshman scholarship player Kawecki is currently 2nd team and Collier was 3rd team. So it appears they're getting back to decent depth IMO.

Well it looks like your boys at the Rivals.com site got one right. The kid needs serious help, mental issues and the potential for violent acts are no laughing matter, but I doubt you could really give a damn for what is good for the kids!

Is it not scary that your blindside back up is a true freshmen? And it's not like a 5*LT like Texas too. I saw some article from. RA that we will have about 25 Oline guys in fall. So we not have anyone other than a walk on or freshmen for LT backup?

Actually he's behind #3 tackle Brooks. Kawecki is 4th tackle in a tight game. But remember Okung, he started 8 games as true frosh. So it's not impossible he's our best #4 tackle.

Miterko was battling for starting tackle last year and could probably move back there if needed, but in the sake of getting the best 5 starting, he is instead playing guard at the moment.

Coach already said the goal is to have 8 guys ready to play (one extra at each position, T, G, C)

Actually with injuries right now there are 12 healthy scholarship offensive linemen and with walk-ons three that are capable of playing right now there are a total of 18 offensive linemen.

The above depth chart is still accurate in my opinion, but Oklahoma State like most schools, uses the pattern of a third tackle and a third guard and a backup center. Brooks would be the third tackle. Michalski and Webber would be the top reserves inside.
