All the forced optimism about the o line but I don't see it. Lt could be a major issue. Starter has never played serious minutes at this level and we have a 265 lb backup. We are one injury away from the same situations we have become accustomed too. 2 of 3 transfers not on the team. Where is all this depth we been hearing about?

This list isn't the entire OL group, just the 2 deep for week 1. If Etienne is injured, I'd expect someone from a different spot to slide over to LT.

I mean if a true freshman is on the two deep then how encouraging can the overall situation be? I know what a two deep is and this one is not encouraging. Definitely not representative of the strength we were told of. It is what it is but it's not ideal. I don't really see quite literally how anyone could see this and think it's in position to be much better than things have been if better at all. Seems like another year of missed opportunity. Pray for health

I hear a lot of complaining, but I don't hear/see a lot of actual explanation about why you're so down on the Line.

All of your points were already addressed by several people in the prior OLine thread.

My concerns are with the number of freshmen and RS freshmen in the 2-deep at Safety, RB and QB.

The OLine takes the top 8 players (not the 10 that you're railing on), while the other positions often play the 2nds during games.... I guess we'll see what we have shortly.

Cali,

I'm not too concerned at RB, Richardson, Jackson and Nixon should be OK (I need to see Jackson play). I'm a little concerned on what Gordon is mentally prepared to do.

I think we are OK at QB. Gunnar has had his father in his ear for a number of years. He has been in the program since January of '21 and should know the offense. I expect him to play within the system and within himself. His job will be to get the ball to the right person, avoid mistakes, and let the people around him win the game (think of Clint Chelf).

I am a little more concerned about the 2-deep on the back end of the D.

yeah, I understand your comments, but ATM there is nothing to support them, which is my concern (versus fretting over the OLine)

I think that we'll be fine at all positions, I was simply comparing depth and experience of position groups against others

Our best RB was freaking 4th string last year, and nobody else has played a lick and are all underclassmen.

I'm just scratching my head wondering how I cannot be a little concerned about a 4th stringer and a bunch of rookies being a difference maker for the offense. (and don't bring up Warren, he was a multiyear starter previously)

I have hope at the moment, but I still have early season concerns.

I am also concerned about the RB position.

There is something in the water in Stillwater about RB's though. We always seem to have 2 good ones. I think the A&M transfer will provide the depth we need along with the freshman Gordon. We never seem to come up short there and I bet this year will be the same. Plenty of young talent once they get more snaps.

The OLine situation is unfortunate that the USC transfer is having issues. Let's all wish him well and hope he can come back.

QB is a little scary Gundy can probably handle the team if needed.
