Deondre Jackson Not 'Suiting Up' For Season Opener
STILLWATER – The concerns at running back grew just a little bit more on Wednesday as it appears Oklahoma State will be down a running back in the season opener against Central Michigan.
Jackson, who transferred in from Texas A&M during the offseason, is listed as an (or) on the depth chart along with Dominic Richardson.
You can see the rest of the depth chart HERE.
Richardson was being projected as the No. 1 back for the Pokes this season as he has the most experience during his playing career than any of the other backs. He played in all 14 games this past season as a sophomore, finishing the year with 79 carries for 343 yards and four touchdowns.
As for Jackson, he played in four games this past season with A&M, but did not record any stats.
Behind the duo of Richardson and Jackson is redshirt freshman Jaden Nixon and freshmen Ollie Gordon and CJ Brown.
Nixon saw action in two games last season as a true freshman, KU and TCU, and carried the ball 14 times for 122 yards and one touchdown, with 63 yards coming on one play against TCU.
The Cowboys kick the 2022 season off against Central Michigan on Thursday, Sept. 1, with a 6 p.m. CT kick on FS1.
