STILLWATER – We’ve starting a new game-week series here at Pokes Report called Over/Under. It’ll be five topics with an over/under associated to them. You’ll then drop your predictions in the comments below on how you think they’ll turn out.
No. 8 Oklahoma State is looking to go 6-0 on the season as the Pokes travel to Fort Worth for a showdown with No. 13 TCU. The Cowboys started the 2021 season 6-0 and finished the season with a trip to the Big 12 title game and an all-time classic win over Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl.
The first Over/Under will be Dominic Richardson: Over/Under two touchdowns
Dom recorded four total touchdowns in the 2021 season, one against Texas Tech, one against Baylor in the Big 12 title game and two against TCU. He’s already tied that number this season with a rushing touchdown in every game except against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. While he hasn’t recorded any receiving TDs this year, I’m including that in the scoring for tomorrow. Can Dom repeat what he did against the Horned Frogs last year and score at least two touchdowns on Saturday?
Spencer Sanders: Over/Under two passing touchdowns
Spencer has thrown for 12 touchdowns in the first five games of the season, four against Central Michigan and Arkansas-Pine Bluff, two against Arizona State and one apeice against Baylor and Texas Tech. Can Spencer throw at least two touchdowns against the Frogs on Saturday?
Mason Cobb: Over/Under 10 total tackles
Mason Cobb has been on a tear to start the 2022 season. He’s recorded 38 total tackles in the first five games, 22 of which have been solo stops. He cleared his 2021 total of 10 tackles in the first game of the season against Central Michigan in which he recorded 11 tackles. Can Mason hit that magical double-digit number on Saturday?
Defense: Over/Under two forced turnovers
I think this one has the chance of being one of the more interesting nuggets in this article. The Cowboys have forced five turnovers on the season, averaging out to one a game, despite them having two interceptions against Baylor. As for TCU, they’ve combined for one interception and two lost fumbles on the season. Can the Cowboy defense force at least two turnovers on Saturday?
Special Teams: Over/Under two made FGs
Tanner Brown has been very good this season, making 8-of-8 field goals on the season, which includes four makes against Texas Tech this past weekend, leading to him being named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week. He made two against Arizona State and two against Baylor. Will Brown continue his success and kick at least two field goals on Saturday?
