Postgame Notes–

  • With 68 yards against TCU, Spencer Sanders set a new quarterback rushing record for Oklahoma State. He has rushed for 1,874 yards in his career, which surpasses Brent Blackman’s total of 1,870.
  • Spencer Sanders’ seventh and eighth rushing touchdowns of the season came on OSU’s first two possessions of the game. His previous high for rushing touchdowns in a season was six in 2021. It also marks the third time this season Sanders has had two scores on the ground in a game.
  • Sanders passed Zac Robinson in total offensive yards, moving him into second all-time in program history. He also moved to third on OSU’s all-time passing yards list, passing Zac Robinson and Mike Gundy. In the fourth quarter, he moved past Mike Gundy and into third on the program’s career pass attempts list.
  • Sanders entered the game ranked No. 4 in the FBS in points responsible for per game and No. 10 in the FBS in total offense per game. He added 18 points responsible for and 313 yards of total offense against TCU.
  • Tanner Brown improved to 12-for-12 on field goal attempts this season, marking the second consecutive game and third in his career with four field goals. He becomes the first kicker in program history to make eight field goals in a two-game stretch.
  • Brown’s 52-yard field goal in overtime set a new career high, and he also continued his streak of consecutive PATs made having converted 66 attempts in a row.
  • Mason Cobb finished with 16 tackles, setting a new career high. It is the most tackles in a single game by a Cowboy since Jordan Sterns had 19 on Dec. 3, 2016.
  • Oklahoma State has scored a touchdown on its first possession in four consecutive games, and in five of six games this season.
  • Braden Cassity’s 38-yard reception on the first drive of the game marks the longest reception of his career. His lone catch also set a new career high for receiving yards in a game.
  • Dominic Richardson surpassed 1,000 rushing yards in his career against TCU.
  • Richardson’s 44-yard reception in the third quarter is the longest of his career. He set a new career high in receiving yards against TCU with 79 yards on three catches.
  • Richardson punched in his fifth rushing touchdown of the year and he now has a rushing touchdown in five of the six games this season.
  • Through six games, Oklahoma State has had 28 passing plays go for 20 or more yards.
  • The Oklahoma State defense has recorded 54 tackles for loss through six games this season. For comparison, OSU had 46 tackles for loss in the first six games of the 2021 season.
  • Sean Michael Flanagan set a career high in tackles with seven in the first half alone. He finished the game with 11 total tackles.
  • Tom Hutton had three punts of 50 yards or more against TCU, the most in a single game in his career.
  • The TCU offense entered Saturday’s contest converting on 49.2% of its third downs. The Cowboy defense held them to 2-for-8 (25%) in the first half and 3-for-13 (23%) in the game.
  • Oklahoma State’s defense held TCU just under its season averages in points per game (46.4) and total offense per game (46.4).
  • Oklahoma State has outscored its opponents, 170-65, in the first half this season.
  • Brennan Presley has recorded at least one reception in 20 of the past 21 games, dating to Dec. 29, 2020.
  • Brock Martin and Collin Oliver each recorded at least one quarterback hurry against TCU, bringing them to a tie for the team lead with seven each.
  • Jason Taylor II tied a career high with two pass breakups against TCU, bringing his season total to six and into a tie with Trace Ford for the team lead.
  • Eli Russ made the first start of his career at center against TCU.
  • Oklahoma State’s game captains were Dominic Richardson, Hunter Woodard, Ben Kopenski and Tom Hutton.

  • Made it 6-2 in its past eight road games.
  • Snapped its three-game road winning streak.
  • Ended its regular season conference winning streak at seven games, tied for the third-longest streak in school history and the longest since the seven-game streak from Oct. 1 - Nov. 19, 2016.
