Postgame Notes

  • Jason Taylor II entered the game as one of 12 Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Semifinalists as he led the Big 12 conference and ranked No. 10 in the FBS with four interceptions. Taylor II added onto his impressive resume against Oklahoma, intercepting a Dillon Gabriel pass with eight seconds left in the first half, to go along with a fumble recovery. He also tied a career high in tackles with 11 stops.
  • Tanner Brown improved to 19-for-20 on field goal attempts this season after converting attempts of 24 and 25 against Oklahoma.
  • Spencer Sanders made his return to the starting lineup against Oklahoma. He finished 36-of-67 for 381 yards. His 67 attempts is the most in a single game in program history.
  • Sanders’ 55-yard connection with Brennan Presley was the second-longest passing play of the season for OSU.
  • Presley topped 100 yards for the first time this season and for the third time in his career. He finished with nine catches for 118 yards.
  • Braydon Johnson pulled in his first reception since Oct. 15, on the first play of the game. He also added a 47-yard catch and run in the third quarter, which marked his 14th career catch of 40 yards or more. He finished with seven catches for 109 yards, his second 100-yard game of the season.
  • Johnson and Presley became the first pair of Cowboys to have 100+ yards in the same game this season.
  • Through 11 games, OSU has had 48 passing plays go for 20 or more yards.
  • After surrendering 28 points and 299 yards in the first quarter, OSU’s defense held the Sooner offense to 135 yards and no points over the final three quarters.
  • Logan Ward’s 63-yard punt in the first quarter is tied for the longest punt of the year for the Cowboys.
  • Jabbar Muhammad’s forced fumble was the first of his career, which was recovered by Taylor II at the Oklahoma State 3-yard line.
  • Quinton Stewart recorded his first career catch that went for a 2-yard touchdown at the 2:17 mark in the third quarter.

  • Ollie Gordon set a career high with seven rush attempts against Oklahoma.

equally amazing is taking a winning team and a winning record and spin something negative out of it...
