STILLWATER – Oklahoma State looks to continue its strong tradition of talented specialists with the 2023 class as the Pokes have signed long-snapper Tanyon Freibaum.

Out of Scottsdale (AZ) Saguaro, Freibaum checks in at 6-1, 200-pounds and earned a spot on the Under Armour All-American team to finish his high school career. He’s ranked as the No. 2 overall long-snapper in the class and held offers from Marshall, Oregon, Oregon State and San Jose State, according to Kohl’s.

“Freibaum has always been one of the best snappers in the country, putting it on full display at the 2022 Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp. He had the best individual charting session ever recorded at a Kohl's Snapping Camp, and finished the Scholarship Camp with the highest overall charting score against over 200 of the country's best snappers. Freibaum put 11 of his 12 long snaps through the target with an average snap time of .67 seconds. Not only did he dominate the charting aspect of camp but he lit up the competition by putting a .65 second snap through the target, earning himself a spot in the Under Armour All-America Game. Freibaum has what it takes to start right away for any program in the country.” Kohl’s Professional Camps.

OSU is losing Matt Hembrough, a long-snapper who is set for a lengthy NFL career. So, the addition of Freibaum certainly helps keep the talented specialist tradition alive in Stillwater.

He goes along with Aussie punter Hudson Kaak, who signed with the Pokes yesterday out of ProKick Australia. He’s a former Aussie Rules football player with the Murray Bushrangers of the NAB League in Wangaratta, Australia.

Wonderful.

We shouldn't expect anything less since he was recruited by the best long snapper in OSU history
