Jason Taylor II to Compete in 2023 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

STILLWATER – One of Oklahoma State’s most impactful players the past couple of seasons is playing in a postseason showcase game. It was announced on Monday Jason Taylor II was selected to play in the 2023 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

The game is to be played on Jan. 28 at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA, with Eddie George and Jeff Fisher set to be the coaches.

Former OSU safety Kolby Harvell-Peel played for the National Team and Malcolm Rodriguez played for the American Team in the 2022 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

Taylor II, who declared for the 2023 NFL Draft on January 7, is coming off an incredible senior season.

He finished the 2022 season with 99 total tackles, 80 of which were solo stops, including 3.5 tackles for loss. He also finished with an impressive 13 pass break ups, six interceptions, two of which interceptions came in the win over Texas, and one forced fumble.

His six picks were tied for second in the FBS, one of just eight players to do so, behind just two players who combined for seven picks.

While he still had one year of eligibility remaining, it’s hard to blame him for wanting to take advantage of those numbers and head to the NFL.

The 2021 season was Taylor’s breakout year. Filling in for an injured Tre Sterling, Taylor II finished with 48 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, six pass breakups, two picks, one forced fumble and one blocked field goal on the road against Boise State. One of his interceptions was an 85-yarder returned for a touchdown against Texas.

Following the season, he was tabbed a Big 12 honorable mention.

Taylor II will participate in Oklahoma State’s upcoming Pro Day on campus, and has a very real chance of being invited to participate in the NFL Combine.
