Watch: Mike Boynton Discusses Avery Anderson III Injury Ahead of Texas Tech

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Cowboy basketball is getting down to the nitty gritty of the season with just eight conference games remaining. The Pokes are 5-5 in conference play with a chance to climb above .500 in league play for the first time this season as they play host to Texas Tech on Wednesday, February 8 at 7 p.m. CT.

They will, however, be without their starting point guard as it was announced on Monday Avery Anderson III is set to have surgery on his off-ball wrist on Wednesday, which puts him out for an indefinite amount of time. Anderson took to social media late Monday evening to announce he won’t be finishing his senior season, but Boynton didn’t want to put a timetable on it.

Boynton was the one to announce Anderson’s surgery as he spoke to the media on Monday evening. He discussed Anderson injury at length, as well as his replacement in the starting lineup, Caleb Asberry. He also discussed Kalib Boone at length and what the team’s mindset is down the stretch of the season with the NCAA tournament still in play.
