STILLWATER – The No. 3 Oklahoma State softball team picked up a pair of wins at the OSU/Tulsa Invitational on Friday, securing a 6-3 victory over No. 24/23 Missouri and a 9-0 run-rule victory over Maine behind Lexi Kilfoyl's five-inning no-hitter.

With Friday's results, the Cowgirls improved to 15-1 on the season, with four wins over ranked teams.

In game one, Oklahoma State All-American Kelly Maxwell struck out 12 Missouri batters and went the distance to improve to 6-0 on the year. After giving up a solo home run in the first inning, Maxwell settled in and held the Tigers scoreless until the sixth inning.

OSU plated three runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth to create all the separation it needed.

In the fourth inning, Rachel Becker led off with a walk, followed by freshman Tallen Edwards tabbing a single. Each of them has reached base safely in every single game this season. Freshman Micaela Wark tied the game with an RBI single that scored Becker. Katelynn Carwile scored another with a fielder's choice, then a base hit from Chyenne Factor brought across Wark, extending OSU's lead to 3-1.

In the fifth inning, a bases-loaded double for Wark extended the Cowgirls' lead to 6-1 and put the game out of reach.

The Tigers threatened with a two-run homer in the sixth inning, but Maxwell and the Cowgirls defense closed things out to seal the win.

In game two against Maine, Lexi Kilfoyl's no-hitter was the story. It was the third solo no-hitter of her career and her fourth overall no-hitter. Kilfoyl struck out 11 in five innings of work.

The Cowgirls struck first as OSU batted around in the first inning. Becker led off with a single, marking the 15th-straight game with a hit, which is tied for third in program history for the longest consecutive hit streak. Following a Maine fielding error that allowed Edwards to reach base, Wark brought home Becker with her third hit of the day, an RBI single up the middle. Another fielding error scored Edwards, then Katie Lott drove in another with an RBI single. Catcher Audrey Schneidmiller notched a base hit that drove in Carwile. Megan Bloodworth rounded out the scoring for the inning, with a fielder's choice that scored Lott to bring OSU's lead up to 5-0.

The Cowgirls struck for two more runs in the third inning when Becker drove in Lott with an RBI single. A bases-loaded walk drawn by Naomi scored Schneidmiller, extending OSU's lead to 7-0.

A Claire Timm RBI single and a run-scoring wild pitch in the fourth inning brought the game into run-rule territory by extending the OSU advantage to 9-0.

In the fifth inning, Kilfoyl notched her seventh-consecutive strikeout to open the inning. Following a groundout and her 11th strikeout of the night, Kilfoyl secured the no-hitter and the win.

In the two games combined, Wark went 4-for-6 with a double and five RBI.

OSU returns to play day two of the OSU/Tulsa Invitational tomorrow, with two games on deck. The Pokes open at 2:30 p.m. against South Dakota State, then play again at 5 p.m. against Tarleton State. The games can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
