STILLWATER – Finally, Part Three of our series on the analysis of the spring football roster. This has been a busy week with a lot of things going on. We changed things up a little as we took the spring roster numerically and went in thirds. Part One had a definite skill theme to it with quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, defensive backs, and a few linebackers  like defensive end moving to linebacker Collin Oliver.

Kirkland, Oates, Collin Clay, Aden Kelley are the choices for NT?

Kody and Goodlow has the size to play for. 3-3-5 DE, not as fancy as a DE in even front.

The other side will have Natu and someone else? Maybe Desean Brown or Jaleel Johanson?

Looking forward to see who we have on our Dline , viper and Sam positions.

So if I'm following Robert's guess, the OL absent injuries may end up having Michalski at Center, backed up by RS Frosh from Frisco Kaweki and Sanders from Stillwater. Birmingham and Brooks at Guard backed up by Wilson, Makununia, Miterko and others. Springfield and Cooper at R-OT and L-OT respectively backed up by Etienne, Harvey, Dotson and others unless Etienne picks up his productivity a bunch to hold his starting spot at LT.
Looks like we've finally got a good number of bodies for Coach Dickey to work with, who was supposedly a strength at KSU sorting talent out and getting new guys ready to play well (even against what appeared to be overmatches with OU). If Dickey can't field an average plus OL this year, I'll likely give up supporting him. This group as well as Coach Dickey will decide a lot about our offense's success.

That sounds about right for the OLIne, but I read it to say that Etienne IS the starting LT, and that he could make the NFL if he picks up his play. I'm sure that will all be sorted out this spring and Fall.

It would seem a push/wish for Cooper to come in and take a starting spot, I don't remember that happening often, but perhaps Cooper is special. Maybe the 3 year starter from UAB, Salako, when they closed down their program, or the Cal transfer, Cochran. The center we had 2 years ago, Godlevske, he was Grad-transfer.

I'm looking forward to Fall to see how this group shapes up.

At this time last year we had lots of hope for the OLine with Entienne having a year under his belt to shape up, and Webber, Collier and Brooks coming in (and Woodward still healthy). Then everything went to H3ll in hurry.

This year, at least we have much, much more experience across the 2-deep.

I read Etienne the same way. Just read Cooper different and recall Etienne had a long way to go last year. Cooper has 3 years as a successful starter (lower level) I think and was rated the #3 OL transfer in the portal I believe. Just hope someone shines.....know we need a decent OLT this year. Good thing is, about 3 former starters (still on team) look like they may be pressed hard or end up second team this year. If last year's group were all comfortably in place for upcoming season, I'd be concerned!

it's sort of annoying though... last year we had too many OLine guys injured to have a Spring Game

This year it's too many new faces and new coaches to have a Spring Game...

I guess we'll just have to wait it out to find out what we've got.

My apologies in that I worked my way up the numbers and then went to the bottom and worked my way down from 99 and somehow missed writing anything on Goodlow but put a picture of him up from this winter and conditioning. Goodlow is a stud and he will be huge and likely start at Viper. That is the equivalent of Leo on the four man front/ The playmaker end plus you have the likes of Walterscheid and Latu play Desean Brown and more. End will be a strength and I saw where folks were talking nose. I like the nose compliment as well and it is deep.

Goodlow factors big as a playmaker and he has experience in the Tulsa version of the 3-3-5 which has many similarities to the Nardo version.

Goodlow has been corrected and written about.

Thanks Robert and don't worry about it. A few of us made a mistake in our work before!
