STILLWATER – Spring Football is finally upon us in Stillwater America and Oklahoma State is back in action in the Sherman Smith Indoor.

Head coach Mike Gundy met with the media ahead of the first practice on Tuesday. He discussed the newcomers on the roster, as well as returning starters, the run game and new defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo.

"Well back at it. I'm glad that we're back from spring break and healthy and ready to get at it. Players are excited. We've had a great offseason. I thought about whether I could say something different, but we generally always have really good offseasons, get a lot of work accomplished. Much different this year in I think it is 28 new players that we have on our roster for this spring, which is considerably different than most years. In the past you're looking at three or four new players. And so, finding our way through getting everybody together rep-wise and trying to get schemes built in all three phases to benefit us for the summer so our guys can practice on their own, and obviously get ready for August. But, it's good to be out here and get rolling again."

I read the full transcript earlier. Thought this was interesting. As Robert mentioned earlier, it's no secret, we went out and picked up what would be traditional tight ends. We feel that could help us in the running game. It's not so much what the schemes are, because pretty much all of us do the same thing. It's how well we can execute it, the players that are executing it and how well we get it coached up. And I think the tight end will help us do some of that. That's really the truth of what we're trying to accomplish in the running game. There's not any secrets." So no changes really just got a couple lesser known lower level portal tight ends and we will stack weight on em and hope they can become better at coaching the same old things everyone does.

Sounds like big boys with good feet that can block on the move.
