Quion Williams Announces Return for Sophomore Season
STILLWATER – Another Oklahoma State Cowboy has announced a return for next season. Quion Williams took to Twitter Thursday evening to announce he’s returning for his sophomore season.
Williams joins John-Michael Wright, who made his announcement earlier this week, in returning for next season.
The Cowboys’ lone freshman this past season, Williams, averaged 3.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, but those numbers got better as the season progressed. One of the his best games of the season came against Baylor in late February as he scored 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 from 3-point range. He also brought down six rebounds and had two assists.
In fact, in three double-figure performances came in the second half of the season as he dropped 10 points against Texas Tech on Feb. 8, 12 points against Baylor on Feb. 27 and 11 points against Youngstown State in the opening round of the NIT on March 15.
The senior pair of Avery Anderson III and Kalib Boone both announced this week they’re entering into the transfer portal. So, with the return of Williams and Wright, with the five incoming freshmen, Mike Boynton and Co. still have one scholarship available.
