Tulsa World Announces All-World Honors from High School Season

STILLWATER – The Tulsa World announced on Saturday (Jan. 30, 2021) their All-World High School Football Honors. This is the team made up of players in the “Green Country” and predominant eastern side of the state. The expectation is that the Tulsa World will release their All-State team in their Sunday edition of the paper. Barry Lewis has the byline on the All-World Team story but Mike Brown had plenty to do with this as well.

From strictly an Oklahoma State angle there were less players than normal on the Cowboys recruiting radar on this team and there were more unocmmitted to college choice players on this year’s selection. Now, Bixby’s Braylin Presley, the junior running back and speedster is one of the five candidates for Tulsa World Offensive Player of the Year that will be presented at the All World event on June 29. We wrote about Presley and his older brother Oklahoma State wide receiver Brennan Presley on Jan. 29 using some quotes from some Tulsa World stories. The younger Presley is an Oklahoma State offer in the 2022 recruiting class. He has offers from the likes of Nebraska, Baylor, Texas Tech, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, and others.

Pokes Report
The shoes are clearly Oklahoma State colors.

You have to like his color choice on shoes he is wearing in his picture in the Tulsa World. What appear to be Nike trainers are definitely orange, black, and white. The Tulsa World story also had an updated size and weight on Presley at 5-7, 162-pounds. Braylin told Bill Haisten of the World that Oklahoma State is in the running, but he is going to go through the recruiting process.

“OSU is a great program,” Braylin Presley said to Haisten and the World. “They’re obviously in the picture, but, honestly, I’m looking at every school that is recruiting me. It would be fun to play with Brennan again, but it’s got to be the right fit for me.”

Presley’s competitors for Offensive Player of the Year are Pawhuska quarterback Bryce Drummond that is heading to North Texas, Jenks senior running back Grant Lohr is uncommitted, also uncommitted is very talented Stillwater running back Qwontrel Walker, Presley’s teammate and Bixby quarterback Mason Williams rounds out the offensive standouts.

The five candidates for Tulsa World All-World Defensive Player of the Year are Metro Christian linebacker Cade Gibson, Future Central Oklahoma defensive back Gage Laney of Owasso, Holland Hall defensive end Owen Ostroski that is heading to Tulsa, Jenks defensive back Jayden Patrick going to Lindenwood, and Texas Tech signee and Wagoner defensive end Isaac Smith.

Tulsa World
Cowboy signee Logan Nobles is first-team All-World.

The only player Oklahoma State signed that made the All-World team and will likely be on their All-State team is Jenks’ massive offensive tackle Logan Nobles. The 6-7, 276-pound tackle helped Jenks win the Oklahoma Class 6A-I State Championship.

“What a great year Logan had,” Jenks head coach Keith Riggs told the Tulsa World. “With his great frame and his work in the offseason that made him bigger and stronger, he made the transition from a finesse blocker to a physical blocker who could finish off blocks.”

Two Oklahoma State commitments for the upcoming 2022 recruiting class were on the All-World second-team in Beggs talented running back C.J. Brown (6-1, 185) and Stillwater linebacker Gabe Brown (6-2, 200).

Making the honorable mention list is one of the my favorite defensive ends that the Cowboys are recruiting and have offered for the 2022 class in Tulsa Edison defensive end and tight end Chris McClellan (6-4, 255).
