STILLWATER – College football recruiting never sleeps, which was the case with 2024 Texarkana (TX) Pleasant Grove linebacker, Jaylen Boardley, who committed while on an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend.

He committed to the Pokes over an impressive number of offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Houston, LSU, SMU, Texas Tech and UTSA among others.

This is also the same high school as current Cowboy linebacker, Xavier Benson.

Boardley, who checks in at 6-0, 190 pounds, played both sides of the ball very well for Pleasant Grove this past season as a junior as he racked up 625 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, he recorded 41 total tackles, as well as one interception and sack apiece.

As a sophomore, Boardley was even more impressive on the offensive side of the ball as he recorded 1,219 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, while also recorded 428 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Boardley marks the fifth overall commitment for the Cowboys in the 2024 class, as well as the third on the defensive side of the ball and second linebacker. He joins Longview, TX, cornerback Willie Nelson and Choctaw, OK, linebacker Will Smith. On the offensive side of the ball, the Cowboys have committed Oklahoma City (OK) Southeast running back Rodney Fields and Stillwater, OK, tight end Josh Ford.
