Oklahoma State Lands Commitment From East Carolina Transfer Javon Small
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men’s basketball just landed its first commitment out of the transfer portal.
Javon Small, a transfer guard out of East Carolina, took to Twitter Sunday afternoon to make the announcement official.
The announcement comes following Small’s official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend.
Small checks in at 6-2, 180 pounds and played a vital role this past season as a sophomore for the Pirates. He led the team in scoring with 15.8 points on 40% shooting from the field. He was also second on the team in assists with 100 on the season, while committing just 34 fouls.
What’s impressive about his sophomore stats is that they came in just 18 games.
With the commitment of Small, there’s now three roster spots to fill following the departures of Anderson III, Kalib Boone, Moussa Cisse and Woody Newton. Boynton and Co. replaced the assists and guard role following Anderson’s departure. They’ll now need to fill at least two more spots with bigs, as well as try to bring in one more guard to fill that last spot.
