Oklahoma State Cowgirl Basketball Adds Big East Freshman of the Year
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Cowgirl basketball just got a lot better on Thursday as Jacie Hoyt and Co. added highly regarded Georgetown transfer, Kennedy Fauntleroy.
"We are thrilled to add Kennedy to our Cowgirl family. Last year she proved to be one of the best point guards in the country as a freshman and we can't wait to help her prove herself again," Hoyt said in the press release. "A scoring point guard is a coveted position for us and the style we play, and Kennedy is all that and more.”
Originally out of Upper Marlboro, MD, Fauntleroy is coming off a monster freshman season this past year as she was unanimously named the Big East Freshman of the Year.
She finished the season as Georgetown’s second-leading scorer on the year with 10.9 points per game in 30 games, starting in 29 of those games.
She averaged nearly 12 points per game in Big East play, as well as 4.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.7 steals in 19 games. All of that led to her being named to the All-Freshmen team, as well as earning Big East FotW honors six times.
Fauntleroy joins North Texas transfer guard, Quincy Noble, Kansas transfer forward, Ioanna Chatzileonti and Arkansas transfer guard, Rylee Langerman.
