Big 12 Announces Annual Revenue Distribution

STILLWATER – Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark announced a record annual revenue distribution of $440 million, an average of $44 million per member school at the conclusion of the Big 12 Spring Business Meetings at the Greenbriar Resort in West Virginia.

That number should be distribution from NCAA tournament revenue, College Football Playoff appearances and revenue from the bowl games.

This year’s record revenue is actually up from last year’s record total revenue of $426 million, nearly $43 million paid out to the schools.

The news of record revenue distribution comes less than 24 hours after the Big 12 announced the creation of a commercial sales division.

“As we continue to innovate the Big 12 Conference, controlling our commercial business is a crucial step,” said Commissioner Brett Yormark. “Through our commercial sales division, the Big 12 will look to grow each aspect of our Conference, enhancing existing revenue drivers and establishing new ones.

So, not only will the revenue expand once the new TV grant of rights goes into place, but the revenue should go up with the new sales division.
