STILLWATER – A top-40 national prospect in the 2022 national class, 7-foot-1 Isaiah Miranda has signed to play basketball at Oklahoma State, head coach Mike Boynton announced today. It was a fast recruiting courtship as Miranda was contacted, came early for a visit, and can now stay or turn around and come back for the summer session.
Miranda comes to OSU from NC State, where he reclassified in order to enroll in December of 2022. After joining the Wolfpack midseason, he redshirted and arrives at Oklahoma State with four years of eligibility remaining.
“Isaiah is an elite addition to our roster,” Boynton said. “We are ecstatic with what he can bring to our team. He has a unique combination of size, length, skill and athleticism, as well as a great work ethic and desire to improve.
Miranda was a consensus four-star recruit in 2022. Rivals ranked him as the nation’s No. 30 overall prospect and On3 had him at No. 40. Coming out of high school, he held reported offers from UCLA, UConn, Texas, USC, Oregon, Louisville and Georgetown before deciding on NC State.
He entered the NBA Draft process following his redshirt season and drew interest from several teams.
“Our staff believes his ability to protect the rim, rebound and cause some matchup challenges for our opponents extends the ceiling of our team. We can’t wait to get to work with him,” Boynton said.
Miranda is the fourth Division I transfer to choose the Cowboys this offseason, joining guard Javon Small, who led East Carolina in scoring a year ago, physical big man Mike Marsh from Jacksonville and 1,300-point scorer Jarius Hicklen from North Florida.
The transfer quartet adds to a 2023 Oklahoma State recruiting class that garnered a top-10 national ranking from 247sports (No. 8), Rivals (No. 9) and ESPN (No. 10) even before their arrival.
OSU’s incoming class also includes McDonald's All-American Brandon Garrison (Del City, Okla.), Team USA U18 standout Eric Dailey Jr., a pair of top-150 national recruits in Justin McBride (Plano, Texas) and Jamyron Keller (Killeen, Texas) and Connor Dow (Broken Arrow, Okla.)
